Pop venue in a former factory on the Boterdiep, with about 200 events a year, from gigs to 18+ dance nights.
Simplon sits on the Boterdiep, a canal just north of the centre, in a building that was a canning factory and later a jacket factory in the early twentieth century. It has been a cultural venue since the early 1970s and reopened after a full renovation in 2002, with a main hall for 400 people and a smaller hall upstairs for up to 200.
The programme runs to around 200 events a year: pop, rock, hip-hop, jazz, techno and drum and bass. Dance nights in autumn 2026 include VISION on 9 October and Housequake with Roog and Erick E on 16 October, from 21:00 to 02:00 for €24.50. Night events are 18+. Not for you if you want a club with a weekly residency: check what is on.
Night events are 18+, staff may check your bag and ask for ID, and you need permission to film or record.
