Rive Rouge

Rive Rouge is on the first floor of the Time Out Market, in the old Mercado da Ribeira opposite Cais do Sodré station. Red iron beams and low lighting set the tone, and the name nods both to the river bank and to the area's red-light past.

It runs Thursday to Saturday from 23:30 to 06:00, with guest DJs and a cosmopolitan crowd that mixes locals and visitors. It is the obvious choice if you ate downstairs and do not want to walk anywhere, and the station for the ride home is across the road. Not for you if you want grit: it is the most polished room on this stretch of the river.
