Red Cat Lounge on Luxemburger Straße is where Cologne goes when the clubs close. Its two regular nights are afterhours: Bassreisen every Saturday from 06:00 to 15:00, and Tinnitus every Sunday from 06:00 to 18:00, both with techno DJs from the region. The lounge bills itself as the home of the best techno in the city, and the regulars come straight from the clubs.
It works as the second half of a night that starts at Gewölbe, Artheater or the Kwartier Latäng bars. At carnival the party carries on well into the next day. Prices are not published online, so check before you go. Trams 12, 15, 16 and 18 stop at Barbarossaplatz, a few minutes away. Not for you if you plan to be in bed by sunrise.
