Gowanus venue with a quadraphonic Sound Room, a listening bar and a garden, open until 04:00 on Friday and Saturday.
Public Records occupies the former ASPCA headquarters on Butler Street in Gowanus and splits it into five spaces: The Atrium, a restaurant and music lounge; Cafe Public, a vegan café; UPSTAIRS, a listening lounge and cocktail bar with a vinyl hi-fi; The Nursery, an open-air garden with a DJ booth; and the Sound Room, a club and live room built around a custom quadraphonic system of vintage hi-fi speakers and heavy subwoofers.
The building opens from Wednesday to Sunday, and club nights run until 04:00 on Friday and Saturday. November 2026 brings the DURATIONS festival. Club events are 21+, big bags and coats must be checked, and doors close an hour before the end. Not for you if you want chart hits and a big crowd.
21+ for club events; big bags and coats must be checked, doors close an hour before the end, and the door can refuse visibly drunk guests.
