Tasting room on the Gedempte Zuiderdiep pouring only Dutch beers from ten taps, open Thursday to Sunday.
Proeflokaal Mout pours beer from the Netherlands and nothing else. The ten taps rotate, there is a tasting board of four small glasses if you want to compare, and there is a bottle shop for taking beers home. It sits on the Gedempte Zuiderdiep, the broad street along the south side of the centre, in an Art Nouveau building.
It opens Thursday to Saturday from 15:00 to 01:00 and on Sunday from 15:00 to 20:00, and is closed from Monday to Wednesday. It does not take reservations. It is a good start before the Oosterstraat and Peperstraat, which are a short walk away. Not for you if you want Belgian or international beers: the list is Dutch by design.
