Beer tasting café at Oude Markt 20 with over 100 beers, a terrace, board games and a pub quiz; open from noon Thursday to Saturday.
Proeflokaal België is a tasting café on the Oude Markt. The word proeflokaal means a place to taste, and the list runs to more than 100 beers, with staff on hand to recommend one. It has a terrace on the square and a bar inside, and Visit Enschede lists it for beer tasting, board games and a pub quiz. The café also hosts cultural events now and then, so check its programme.
Opening hours are from 16:00 on Monday to Wednesday and Sunday, and from 12:00 on Thursday to Saturday. Closing times are not published, so ask at the bar. Google's busy-times data shows Friday around 23:00 as the peak. Not for you if you need to know the closing time in advance: it is not listed online.
Walk-in café; no door policy is listed.
