The Polo Lounge on Wilson Street is the anchor of the Merchant City's LGBTQ+ scene, and it bills itself as Scotland's biggest LGBT venue. Inside are four rooms with vintage decor and leather sofas, and the music is pop, dance, R&B and camp classics. There are drag shows and parodies too, such as Death Becomes Her in October 2026.
It opens on most nights of the week and closes at 03:00. On Saturday the doors open at 21:00, on Wednesday and Friday at 22:00, and on the other nights at 23:00. The dress code is casual and the drinks are priced for a long night. Not for you if you want specialist DJs or a quiet drink: this is a loud, cheerful party.
