Pimpernel

Pimpernel has been on Müllerstraße since 1970, in a building whose nightlife history goes back to the 1930s: Munich's tourist office describes it as a former brothel that later became an exclusive gay bar. Today it is a small, dimly lit room with wood-panelled walls and a mixed crowd, from the LGBTIQ+ scene to students.

It opens every night at 22:00 and closes at 06:00, or at 07:00 on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Local and sometimes international DJs play all night, and entry is €8 from midnight. It is where much of the Glockenbachviertel ends up once the bars have closed. Not for you if you want room to dance: it is small, and it fills up late in the night.
