People's Leisure Club opened on 12 September 2025 on Lothian Street, close to Bristo Square and the university. It holds about 200 people and was set up by the teams behind the Fringe operator Gilded Balloon, Kelburn Arts and Paradise Palms, the bar next door. It describes itself as a mixed, multi-arts space, with an immersive audio system and private booths.
The music is mostly house and electronic. Nightwave played the opening weekend, Leon Vynehall was among the early bookings, and Like This plays Detroit techno, Chicago house and New York garage on Saturdays. Not for you if you want a big room: it is one of the newest club spaces in the city, and it is built for 200.
