Paloma is a wine bar at Van Schoonbekeplein 19, in Eilandje, the old harbour district. It pours natural wines by the glass or bottle, orange wines included, alongside Belgian beers, unusual spirits and mocktails, with a Belgian cola for anyone not drinking. The room has a tiled floor and vintage wooden seats, and the owner, Vincent, is happy to help you choose. A glass of red starts at €6.
It opens every day from 14:00 to 02:00, so it works for an afternoon glass or a late one. Club Vaag is in the same district, which makes Paloma an easy warm-up before a night on the Rijnkaai. Not for you if you want cocktails or a party: this is a place to sit and talk.
