Paardcafé is the music café next door to Paard on Prinsegracht, with a fixed stage, a DJ booth and room for about 200 people. It is the place for new acts and DJs, and for most nights there is no charge at the door.
It opens from 20:00 to 04:00 on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Thursday is Club Pony, with hits all night and a welcome drink if you arrive between 23:30 and 00:30. Other nights range from a queer indie party to house, Afrobeats, 90s hits and karaoke. DJ nights are 18+. Not for you if you want a proper club sound system: it is a café that dances.
Usually free and 18+; it fills up after midnight, so come early at the weekend.
