Munich's best-known society club, at Prinzregentenstraße 1 in the Haus der Kunst since 1984, open Friday and Saturday from 22:00.
P1 opened in 1984 and takes its name from its address, Prinzregentenstraße 1: the Haus der Kunst, near the Englischer Garten. The club fills what it calls the building's historic catacombs, with a design inspired by Studio 54, six VIP areas around the dance floor, two bars, a BOSE sound system and LED panels on the ceiling. The club says the Rolling Stones have danced here.
Regular nights are Friday and Saturday from 22:00 until late, plus the eves of public holidays. The door is selective and expects smart clothes and proper shoes. Drinks are priced to match: a 0.33 litre Hofbräu Hell costs €5.50 and the cheapest bottle of champagne €145. Not for you if you want techno or a small bar bill.
Selective door: dress smart, with proper shoes, and book a table if you come as a group.
