Opium at 26 Wexford Street is a Thai and Vietnamese restaurant, a late bar and a club venue in one building. The Botanical Garden holds 200 people standing under a fully retractable roof, with DJs at the weekend, and the Opium Rooftop is a smaller covered space for about 60. Opium Live, the club room, takes 700 and has hosted Sasha, Maya Jane Coles and Grandmaster Flash.
It opens from Tuesday to Sunday, closing at 23:30 midweek, 02:30 on Friday and Saturday and 23:00 on Sunday; the garden shuts at 01:00. The late bar is over-23s. Not for you if you are under 23, or if you want a quiet drink on a Saturday night.
