Noorderlicht

Noorderlicht has been a café-restaurant on the NDSM wharf since 2004, set among the cranes and studios of the old shipyard in Noord. The terrace runs along the IJ, with grass to sit on, and the kitchen serves soul food from lunch to dinner with a lean towards vegetarian and vegan dishes.

In the evening it doubles as a stage: live music, DJs, poetry and art nights fill the calendar. It is closed on Monday and Tuesday and open from 10:00 to 01:00 the rest of the week. Take the free NDSM ferry from Centraal. Not for you if you want a club; this is a long evening outdoors, not a rave.
