Mr. Mofongo is a grand café on the Oude Boteringestraat with a long cocktail list, a serious wine list and its own distillery, which makes gin, jenever and whisky and ages imported rums and ryes in its own barrels. The party trick is Armano, a robotic arm that mixes cocktails at a raised bar.
It opens daily from 11:00 and stays open until 01:00 from Monday to Thursday, 01:30 on Friday and Saturday and midnight on Sunday, so it works for lunch, dinner or the first round of the night. It is a few minutes on foot from the Grote Markt. Not for you if you want to dance: it is a café and restaurant, and it closes before the clubs get busy.
