Gothic Quarter club for funk, soul, disco and afro-latin sounds, with DJs and live jam sessions since 2011.

Marula Café opened in 2011 as the Barcelona outpost of a well-known Madrid club, on Carrer dels Escudellers a few steps from Plaça Reial. The music is the opposite of the techno rooms: funk, soul, disco, R&B and afro-latin, from DJs and live jam sessions, and all of it made for dancing.

It opens Wednesday to Saturday, from 22:30 midweek and 22:00 at weekends, until 05:00 or 06:00. Some nights are free with conditions, so check the listing. The crowd is a little older than at the student clubs nearby. Not for you if you want techno or a big modern room.
