One of the smallest rooms in dance music: a former flamenco tablao near Plaça Reial with a Funktion-One system, open seven nights.

Macarena started life as a flamenco tablao in the 1920s and is now one of the smallest rooms in dance music. The floor is a single tight space off Plaça Reial, but the sound is a Funktion-One system, and the bookings are house and techno DJs who would fill far bigger rooms elsewhere.

It opens every night at midnight and closes at 05:00, or 06:00 on Friday and Saturday. Midweek entry is around €10. Because it is so small, getting in depends on space more than style. Not for you if you need room to move or a break from the crowd.
