Heritage-listed cocktail bar designed by Adolf Loos in 1908, just off Kärntner Straße, open daily until 04:00.
Adolf Loos designed this bar in 1908 and it is now heritage-listed. At 27 square metres it is said to be the smallest bar in Vienna, but wood, brass, onyx and a wall of mirrors make it feel much larger. It sits in the Kärntner Durchgang, a passage off Kärntner Straße a few minutes from Stephansplatz.
It opens daily from 12:00 to 04:00, which makes it both a classic start and a late finish in the centre. The bar asks for elegant casual dress: no flip-flops, backpacks or short trousers inside. Not for you if you are a group of six wanting a table; the room is simply too small.
