Le Chapiteau, listed by the tourist office as Le Village Chapiteaux, is an open-air, home-made party place at 38 traverse Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours, in the 3rd arrondissement. The site covers 2,700 m² and mixes an organic bar, a club, a restaurant and pétanque courts. The furniture is recycled, the food is organic tapas and pizza, and the house rules ask for quality music, responsible drinking and respect for the crowd.
In autumn and winter it opens on Friday and Saturday from 22:00 to 04:00, with local and international DJs; Time Out has listed dancehall, afrobeat, house and drum'n'bass on its programme. Hours change with events, so check before you go. Not for you if you want a polished room: it gets hot inside in summer and is deliberately rough at the edges.
