Le Bar à Vin is the bar of the Bordeaux wine council, the CIVB, on the ground floor of the Maison du Vin de Bordeaux in the 18th-century Hôtel Gobineau, opposite the Grand Théâtre. The list covers only Bordeaux: around 30 wines by the glass across reds, dry and sweet whites, rosés, clairets and crémants, and it changes often. Young sommeliers help you choose.
It opens Monday to Saturday from 11:30 to 22:00 and closes on public holidays. Platters of cheese, charcuterie and chocolate go with the wine, and the terrace looks onto the Grand Théâtre. Not for you if you want a late drink: it closes at 22:00, before the night starts.
