Kvarnen has served guests on Tjärhovsgatan since 1908, in a building begun in 1906 and named after a grey mill that stood on the site until 1860. The high ceilings and arched windows are original. It has been a Bavarian beer hall and an English pub along the way, and since the 1970s it has been the main meeting place for Hammarby football supporters.
Today it serves Swedish home cooking and a bar of Swedish and continental beers. It opens daily from 11:00 or 11:30 and closes at 23:00 early in the week, midnight on Wednesday and Thursday and 03:00 on Friday and Saturday. Medborgarplatsen metro is a short walk away. Not for you on a Hammarby match day if you do not want football songs.
