Classic cocktail bar at the Kronenhalle on Rämistrasse, designed by Robert Haussmann in 1965, with lamps by Diego Giacometti.

The Kronenhalle Bar belongs to the Kronenhalle restaurant on Rämistrasse, at Bellevue, where people have met since 1924. Architect Robert Haussmann designed the bar in 1965: mahogany panelling, green leather seats, lamps by the Swiss sculptor Diego Giacometti and original art on the walls. The bartenders are known for classic cocktails, and the head bartender keeps a record of regulars' favourite recipes.

It opens daily from 11:30, until midnight from Sunday to Thursday and 00:30 on Friday and Saturday; in July and August it opens at 17:00. Only the restaurant takes bookings. Not for you if you want a party: this is the place for one perfect drink before dinner or after the opera.
