Kaufleuten at Pelikanplatz, a short walk from Bahnhofstrasse, is a club, restaurant, bar and stage in one building, and it calls itself the oldest club in Switzerland. Its history goes back further than the dance floor: on 9 April 1919 the hall hosted the last official Dada soirée in Zurich.
Today the club runs themed weekend nights: NO DIGGITY for hip-hop and R&B, MI GENTE for Latin, Hyper 2000 for 00s hits and house nights such as ADDICTION. Tickets start at CHF 20–30, the whole venue is 18+, and there is always a staffed cloakroom. Not for you if you want underground: this is a polished night out, with lounges for groups.
