Braamfontein microbrewery and live music space opened in March 2026 on the former Orbit jazz club site, open to 23:00 Wednesday to Friday.
Jozi Gold Brewing Company is a family-run microbrewery, restaurant, art space and live performance venue in a two-storey building at 81 De Korte Street in Braamfontein. In Your Pocket says it opened in March 2026 on the site that previously housed Narina Trogon and The Orbit jazz club. The ground floor has couches, dining seating and a bar overlooking the brewing tanks, and the upstairs room is for performance and listening. Brewmaster Thokozani Sithole makes signature lagers and ales and seasonal beers such as the Golden Taj Basmati Rice Lager and Stage 8 Dark Lager, and the brewery has a capacity of 25,000 litres a month.
Chef Joshua Stadt's menu includes smoked brisket pizza, sorghum golden ale-battered fish and braai platters. Live music is ticketed through the website, Your Weekly Touch Up is an alternative music series, and the jazz programme is curated by Carlo Mombelli. Hours are 07:00 to 19:00 on Monday and Tuesday, 07:00 to 23:00 from Wednesday to Friday, 12:00 to 00:00 on Saturday and 12:00 to 18:00 on Sunday, when only the brewery is open.
