Modern Südstadt brewhouse on Elsaßstraße with its own Pils, Helles and wheat beer, Gaffel Kölsch and a beer garden, open until 22:00.
Brauhaus Johann Schäfer takes its name from the Johann Schäfer haulage company that used to occupy the site on Elsaßstraße in the Südstadt. Today it is a modern brewhouse that brews its own Südstadt Pils, Südstadt Helles and Chlodwig Weizen, pours Gaffel Kölsch alongside them and cooks regional, seasonal food.
It opens at 17:00 from Monday to Wednesday, at 12:00 on Thursday and Friday and at 11:30 at the weekend, and closes at 22:00 every day. The beer garden opens on Friday afternoon and from noon at the weekend, weather permitting. That makes it a first stop rather than a last one: Tsunami Club near Chlodwigplatz opens at 23:00. Not for you if you want a late drink.
