Jimmy Woo opened in December 2003 on the Korte Leidsedwarsstraat, a few steps from Leidseplein, and is still the city's dressed-up club. There is a lounge of velvet couches and VIP tables, and the dance floor sits under a ceiling of more than 12,000 light bulbs.
It opens Thursday to Saturday from 23:00, until 03:00 on Thursday and 04:00 at the weekend. The music is urban, R&B and house, with special nights for Latin, Afro house and amapiano. The dress code is chic, with no football shirts, and Friday is 21+. Not for you if you are after techno or an anything-goes door.
