Brera bar since 1911, once the meeting point of Piero Manzoni, Lucio Fontana and the artists of the Academy, open until 02:00.
Jamaica Bar has stood on Via Brera since 1911. It began as a neighbourhood wine shop and became a meeting point for the artists and writers around the Brera Academy: Piero Manzoni, Lucio Fontana, Allen Ginsberg, Salvatore Quasimodo and Dario Fo all spent time here. The bar still hosts exhibitions and cultural events, and has been called a free university of conversation.
It is open every day from 10:00 to 02:00, serving cocktails, aperitivo and traditional Milanese food. It suits the start of a night in Brera, or the end of one if you are staying central. Not for you if you want a quiet corner on a Friday evening, when Brera's streets fill up.
Walk-in bar, open every day.
