Tanzcafé Ilses Erika sits in the Haus der Demokratie on Bernhard-Göring-Straße in Connewitz. It celebrated 25 years in June 2025, which puts its start in 2000. The format is simple: a bar, a dancefloor and DJs who play indie, rock and pop rather than techno.
In summer the Sommerbühne moves concerts into the beer garden. Regular nights include indie rock parties and the Ilses Erika DJ-WM, a DJ contest held in 2026. It is a member of the LiveKommbinat, the association of Leipzig clubs and live venues. Not for you if you want a big sound system or a long techno set: the music here is indie, rock and pop.
