Hyde Park Book Club sits at 27–29 Headingley Lane and works as a café, bar and cultural space in one: music, comedy, art, literature, film and yoga all share the building. The Guardian has praised it as a place to soak up the city's creative energy, and the band English Teacher rate it among the crucial venues to play in Leeds.
It opens at 09:00 every day and closes at midnight from Sunday to Thursday and at 01:00 on Friday and Saturday. Gigs usually start at 19:00 or 19:30 with tickets from £5, and some Fridays carry on with a club night, such as Lift Your Feet from 22:00 on 9 October. Not for you if you want to dance until late: it closes at 01:00.
