Hofman sits on the Janskerkhof in the city centre and works as a café from 10:00, with a terrace that is rarely empty. Law and humanities students are regulars, but it aims at a wider crowd. The week has its own rhythm: stand-up comedy on Wednesday, live bands on Thursday followed by a vinyl DJ, and jazz on Sunday afternoon.
Every Friday and Saturday from 23:00 to 04:00 the café becomes a dance floor, playing funky house, dance and club classics. The door on these nights has been 23+, so bring ID, and queues build after midnight. A beer cost €4.30 in 2024. Not for you if you are under 23 or want underground music: this is a party for a slightly older crowd.
