High Note is a music bar in the street-front rooms of the historic Northcote Theatre on High Street. Time Out describes a sound system built around vintage Altec horns that once served the Sydney Opera House, old-school cocktails, beer on tap and Australian wines. The operator, Crown Ruler, curates a monthly music programme, and the space also hosts record fairs and workshops.
RA's 2026 guide lists it among Melbourne's club venues, moving between seated live performances and late-night dance floors. It opens until 01:00 from Tuesday. Not for you if you want a big dance floor: the room is built for listening.
