Gure Toki is one of the pintxo bars under the arcades of Plaza Nueva, the neoclassical square built between 1829 and 1851 in the heart of the Casco Viejo. The counter is the point: a row of pintxos along the bar, with a glass of wine or a zurito alongside.
It opens from 09:00 to 23:30 on most days, from 10:00 on Saturday and only until 16:00 on Sunday, and it is closed on Wednesday. Come early in the evening, when the square fills for the txikiteo, and treat it as one stop of several. Not for you if you want a long, seated dinner: this is a bar for standing at the counter.
No door policy: walk in, order at the counter and pay as you go.
