Große Freiheit 36 is on the street that runs north off the Reeperbahn, and the Kaiserkeller in its basement is where the Beatles played from October 1960. Upstairs is a concert hall for touring bands; downstairs is the cellar club.
Every Friday and Saturday the XXL Party takes over the building with free entry, with Black music and Deutschrap in the Kaiserkeller. Parties are strictly 18+, and under-18s have to leave concerts by midnight. The bars take cash and EC card, the building is not step-free, and concert tickets are best bought online. Not for you if you want an underground booking; this is the Reeperbahn's mainstream weekend.
