Dive bar at the top of Hamburger Berg, open daily from 18:00 until 16:00 the next afternoon, run by the founder's family since 1953.

Zum Goldenen Handschuh opened in 1953 at the top of Hamburger Berg, the side street off the Reeperbahn. Its founder, Herbert Nürnberg, was a boxer who won European lightweight titles in 1937 and 1939, and his grandson Jörn Nürnberg runs it today.

It opens every day at 18:00 and closes at 16:00 the following afternoon. Its notoriety dates from the 1970s, when the serial killer Fritz Honka met victims here, a story retold in Heinz Strunk's novel Der goldene Handschuh. Today it is a plain corner bar where St. Pauli regulars and late visitors share the counter. Not for you if you want a cocktail list or a quiet seat.
