Funke

Funke sits on Bij Sint-Jacobs, beside the church that gives the square its name and a minute from the Vlasmarkt. It works as a bar early and a club later: on its Friday nights the bar opens at 18:00 and the dancing starts at 23:00. The bookings lean to techno and electronic music, with local DJs, collectives such as 93 Collective and a Third Floor series that includes live sets.

Club nights run from 23:00 to 07:00, tickets cost about €12 on Resident Advisor, and the door is 18+. Because it is so close to Charlatan and Kinky Star, it is the natural late stop after a gig on the square. Not for you if you want a famous headliner: the bookings are local and underground.
