Full Moon Party Haad Rin

The Full Moon Party is the monthly beach party on Sunrise Beach (Haad Rin Nok) at Haad Rin, at the southern tip of Koh Phangan. It has no headline stage: each beach bar runs its own sound system, from commercial dance at Cactus Bar and Drop In Bar in the middle of the beach to harder styles towards the rocks, and Wikipedia names Vinyl Club and Zoom for psytrance, Orchid for drum and bass and Boom Boom Bar for deeper house and trance. Fire-rope and limbo shows run between the bars. Wikipedia gives attendance as about 5,000 to 30,000 per party and dates the first party to 1985, a date it says is disputed.

The official site, supported by Haad Rin business entities, lists the next party for Tuesday 27 October 2026, moved from 26 October because the full moon falls on Ok Phansa, and says a party that clashes with a Buddhist holy day is postponed to the following day. Entry is ฿200, sold at the gate only, and the beach is officially permitted to run until 06:00; phangan.events lists the 27 October party from 18:00. The official safety page warns about buckets made with cheap mixes or methanol, very common pickpocketing and plain-clothes police patrols. Not for you if you want a seated, sound-controlled room: this is an open beach with broken glass in the sand.
