Club and concert venue in a disused U-Bahn tunnel at the Augartenbrücke, known for drum and bass and a serious sound system.
Flex started in 1990 and moved in 1995 into a disused metro tunnel on the Danube Canal, at the foot of the Augartenbrücke. It has been one of the best-known clubs in the city ever since, largely because of the sound. The programme has moved from rock through techno and dub, and today it centres on drum and bass, alongside indie and electronic concerts.
Club nights run from 23:00 to 06:00, typically Thursday to Saturday, and concerts start earlier in the evening. Many nights cost around €12 in advance and €15 at the door. The Flex Café next door has its own small floor, and in summer the canal bank becomes the terrace. Not for you if you want a polished room.
Relaxed door; age limits are set per event, so check the listing.
