Fibre has been on Lower Briggate for more than 25 years and bills itself as the home of house, with a Funktion One sound system. It shares a yard with Queens Court, an LGBTQ+ bar in an 18th-century merchant's house, and runs courtyard parties and drag brunches as well as club nights.
It opens Wednesday to Sunday: 16:00–02:00 on Wednesday, 16:00–03:00 on Thursday, 12:00–04:00 on Friday, 12:00–05:00 on Saturday and 14:00–03:00 on Sunday. DJs start at 21:00 on Wednesday, 22:00 on Thursday, 20:00 on Friday and 16:00 on Saturday, and the Wednesday club night Juice costs £5–7. Not for you if you want a quiet Saturday afternoon drink.
Fibre publishes its own door policy on its website; Penthouse membership is available for regulars.
