The Effenaar on Dommelstraat is the largest pop venue in Eindhoven, with a main hall for 1,200 people and a Kleine Zaal for 350. The programme covers rock, hip-hop, indie, pop and dance, and the smaller hall doubles as a club: autumn 2026 brings drum and bass at Faction Mirage, a K-pop Halloween night and a Turkish pop night, with a 90s, 00s and 10s party in the main hall in November.
The Kleine Zaal holds a 24-hour permit for club nights, so some parties run long. Times, prices and age rules are set per event, so check the listing. Not for you if you want the same sound every weekend.

Activists who occupied a court building in 1969 moved into a vacant linen mill on Dommelstraat in 1971, first as youth centre Para+, renamed Effenaar that year. A renovated building designed by MVRDV opened in 2005 with two halls.
