Drop In Bar

Drop In Bar is on Sunrise Beach at Haad Rin and is called the other Haad Rin original by Visit Thailand Today, which lists it as open daily from 19:00 to 04:00 and notes that hours can change on Thai public holidays. The dance floor starts on the deck and dissolves into the beach, the music is commercial dance and throwback anthems, and the bar runs bucket stands and fire shows. Wikipedia places Drop In Bar and Cactus Bar together as the original beach bars, with nightly drink promotions and fire shows, and says the shows use poi and rope soaked in diesel.

Entry is free on normal nights. On Full Moon night the ฿200 beach fee is collected at the entrances and the bar's sound system claims its stretch of the strip. Visit Thailand Today advises keeping shoes on because of glass in the sand and treating the sea as scenery after dark. Not for you if you want a seated bar or a quiet night: it is one of the loudest stretches of the beach.
