Donau hides behind a grey metal door on Karl-Schweighofer-Gasse, a side street between Mariahilfer Straße and the MuseumsQuartier. Inside is a long, columned hall with acoustic panels on the ceiling and a giant slide projection that changes daily. DJs from the local underground play minimal, house and techno most nights.
It opens Wednesday from 21:00 to 02:00, Thursday to 03:00 and Friday and Saturday to 06:00. A sausage stand inside covers the late hunger. Think of it as a bar with a dance floor rather than a full club, which makes it a good first or last stop. Not for you if you want a headline booking.
