District

District is the larger room in the Harrington Street precinct at 61b Harrington Street, which also holds Harrington's Cocktail Lounge and the Surfa Rosa dive bar. Cape Town Magazine calls it the main live music venue of the complex, and Cape Tourism describes several dance spaces and state-of-the-art lighting. Nights often pair rock, pop and indie bands with house or techno DJs afterwards, and the programme also includes R&B Fest and Discoland, a 1970s and 1980s fancy-dress night.

Shows are ticketed and mostly fall on Fridays and Saturdays. Some run from 16:00 to 21:00 with last entry at 17:00, others from 21:00 to 02:00. The events page lists Groovebox Halloween with Jilax on 30 October, The Horror Story Picture Show on 31 October, Hogwash on 13 November, Discoland Cape Town on 14 November and R&B Fest on 21 November, with dates given without a year.
