Overpoort club that opened in 1996 and made its name with house and I Love Techno afterparties; 2026 nights cost about €10.
Decadance opened on the Overpoortstraat in 1996, before the street became the student strip it is now. It made its name with electronic music after resident Jan Van Biesen started playing house on Thursday nights, and later as the afterparty for I Love Techno. The original club closed in 2018, but the name is back: in 2026 Resident Advisor lists Decadance nights at the same address.
Its summer 2026 afterhours nights ran from 23:00 to 06:00 with trance and techno line-ups, €10 tickets, an 18+ door and lockers that take a €2 coin. Around it are more than 35 student cafés, busiest on Thursday in term time. Not for you if you want a polished club or a calm street outside: this is the heart of the student quarter.
