De Oosterpoort is a concert venue on the Trompsingel, in the Oosterpoort district south-east of the centre. It has two concert halls, the Noord Nederlands Orkest plays in the main hall, and it is run by SPOT Groningen, which also runs the Stadsschouwburg. Every January it hosts Noorderslag, part of the Eurosonic Noorderslag festival.
The pop programme is broad. October 2026 alone has Grandmaster Flash on the 16th, Band of Horses on the 17th and Caravan Palace on the 28th, and Eurosonic Noorderslag runs from 13 to 16 January 2027. Concerts end in the evening, so plan the late part of the night in the centre. Not for you if you want a club night: this is a concert hall.
