De Nijverheid is a creative hub on Nijverheidskade in the Werkspoorkwartier, where artists and designers work and put on exhibitions. Three converted boats belong to it, former prostitution boats from the old Zandpad, and one of them is now a small museum about that history. The Kunstcafé has a bar built from old Utrecht park benches.
The café opens at noon every day and stays open until midnight on Thursday and until 01:00 on Friday and Saturday. Most events are free: in October 2026 that includes the Versterker gigs and an Open Forms night on Boot 122. It makes an easy first stop before KABUL à GoGo or WAS. Not for you if you want a club: it is a café with a programme, not a dance floor.
