Two-floor Gay Village club on Princess Street since 1992: pop upstairs, house in Sub 101, open until 08:00 at weekends.
Cruz 101 opened on Princess Street, at the edge of the Gay Village, on 22 May 1992, and it is still the latest finish in Manchester. Upstairs is the main floor with two bars, playing pop, chart and house. Downstairs, Sub 101 is for house and tech house. In 2002 the club won a High Court case over admitting non-members, a ruling that changed club doors across the UK.
It opens six nights a week and closes only on Monday. Tuesday to Thursday and Sunday run from midnight to 07:00, and Friday and Saturday from 23:00 to 08:00, with Allsorts downstairs. Entry is 18+ with photo ID, and app users get discounted entry. Not for you if you want an early night: the doors open at 23:00 or midnight.
18+ with photo ID; the door has become more relaxed in recent years.
