Copper Face Jacks, known as Coppers, is on Harcourt Street under the Jackson Court Hotel, and it is probably the most famous club in Ireland. It is named after Copperfaced Jack, the nickname of the 18th-century judge John Scott. Inside are three floors: a main floor that hosts major sporting events, a cocktail bar in the Georgian part of the building and a basement dance floor.
It opens seven nights a week, from 21:00 on Friday and Saturday and from 22:00 on other nights, until late. The crowd is famously mixed, with nurses, teachers, Gardaí and county GAA players among the regulars, and the music is chart hits and singalongs. Hotel guests who book direct get free entry.
