Small club near the Korenmarkt for funk, house, disco and italo, from the team behind Studio Bonheur, open Friday and Saturday, 20+.
Club Sauvage opened in the former AM Club, around the corner from the Korenmarkt and Sint-Michielsbrug, after a full renovation by the team behind Studio Bonheur. The idea was more variety in Ghent's nightlife, and the music shows it: funk, groove, house, disco and italo rather than heavy techno, played from a DJ booth set in the middle of the room beside a new bar.
It opens every Friday and Saturday from 22:30 to 04:30. Some nights follow the SAUVAGE invites format, where one DJ plays the whole night and no line-up is announced. The door is 20+, and the club's own line is that everyone is welcome who comes to be themselves. Not for you if you want techno or a late finish: it closes before the docks do.
