Chinchilla Rooftop

Chinchilla Rooftop is on the second floor of The Promenade building on Victoria Road in Camps Bay. Time Out's January 2026 list of rooftop bars gives sushi, small plates and cocktails, with DJs on Fridays and Saturdays. Cape Town Magazine's rooftop guide, last updated in January 2024, lists a rotating line-up of local and international DJs, with Tess Prins and Charles Webster named as residents at that date.

The same guide gives Wednesday to Friday from 16:00 to 23:00 and Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 to 23:00, so this is a sunset and early-night stop rather than a late club: the 23:00 close is well before the 02:00 standard cut-off. Camps Bay sits on the Atlantic seaboard away from the city-centre clubs, and Cape Tourism puts a metered taxi from the CBD to Camps Bay at about R200, with Uber and Bolt trips of R50 to R150 for shorter rides. Prices, a dress code and an age rule are not published on the pages checked. Not for you if you want to dance past 23:00.
