Chill Up Club

Chill Up describes itself as a bar and mini club on the Ban Tai main road, open six days a week from 19:00 to 02:00 and closed on Wednesdays. Entry is free, and the site says so for all parties. Visit Thailand Today calls it a laid-back but lively alternative to the island's more intense party scene, 1.2 km from Echo Travel's Baan Tai Pier and slightly off the main tourist trail, with a crowd that leans social instead of rowdy.

The weekly programme listed on the site is Monday Madness, PSYDAY on Tuesday and Friday, Phangan Calling on Thursday, Sinewave drum and bass on Saturday and Chill Up Karaoke on Sunday. The genres named are progressive house, techno, psytrance and drum and bass, with minimal, indie dance, tech house, jungle and liquid in some event listings. The site names no resident DJs, says local artists and guests from abroad play, and invites DJs to apply. phangan.events lists the October nights at 21:00 (PSYDAY on Friday 23 and Tuesday 27 October, Monday Madness on 26 October and Phangan Calling on 29 October), Sinewave at 22:00 on Saturday 24 October and karaoke at 20:00 on Sunday 25 October.
